Platform Engineer

About the role

As a Platform Engineer at ND&Co, you will be the cornerstone of managing the ServiceNow platform for our diverse array of clients and partners. This role is tailored for individuals who are not only technical experts but also possess a deep understanding of the Now Platform's capabilities. You will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continual improvement of the ServiceNow environments. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of the ServiceNow platform, making it a pivotal role within our team.

Skills Required

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge and experience in JavaScript and a strong grasp of Now Platform capabilities are essential. You should be proficient in managing system access, monitoring instance health, and understanding security standards.
     

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical, as you will analyse processes and create automation to enhance platform efficiency.
     

  • ServiceNow Certification: A minimum ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is required for this role.
     

  • API and Security Standards: A solid understanding of APIs, security standards, and their application within the ServiceNow environment is vital.
     

  • Experience in CSDM and CMDB Principles: Understanding and experience in the principles of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) are highly beneficial.
     

  • Communication Skills: Proficient written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effectively collaborating with team members and clients.

Essential Tasks

  • Platform Administration: As our customers' primary ServiceNow platform administrator, you will manage and optimise the platform, ensuring its health and security.
     

  • Technical Support and Development: Provide expert knowledge and advice on technical questions related to the support and development of ServiceNow.
     

  • Daily Task Management: Action and assign daily support tasks, ensuring that issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
     

  • Upgrades and Maintenance: Perform platform upgrades, releases, patches, and hotfixes across various ServiceNow environments.
     

  • Customer Engagement: Attend customer meetings for support, production releases, and governance, acting as the liaison between clients and support teams.
     

  • Continual Improvement: Contribute to the continual improvement of the platform, staying abreast of the latest trends and technologies in ServiceNow.
     

  • Training and Development: Train support analysts on the administration and maintenance of ServiceNow, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
